It’s true, as the saying goes, that “home is where the heart is.” It’s also true that community is where we put our hearts to work. It’s what turns a location into a place of belonging.

As we head into the holidays, many of us are clamoring for the comforts of home. In the process, we want to double down on creating and cultivating connections. That kind of community doesn’t happen by accident. It requires roll-up-your-sleeves intentionality. It takes everyone, and we are proud to play a part in strengthening the foundations of the neighborhoods we serve.

Here is a look at how our team has been working to support the communities around us this year.

Community is where we put our hearts to work. It's what turns a location into a place of belonging.

Financial Literacy for High Schoolers with Ramsey Education

Managing personal finances is challenging even for those of us who have been doing it for decades. It can be downright daunting for young adults just leaving high school.

That is why we are particularly proud of our work in Union Grove, Mauldin, and Greenville High Schools, where we partnered with Ramsey Education to provide our sponsored schools with the country’s leading personal finance curriculum, Foundations in Personal Finance.

Our goal was simple: give the next generation the toolkit they need to succeed. Today’s students might be tomorrow’s homeowners or renters, but whatever (and wherever) their future holds, they are a part of our community right now, and we are proud to play a small part in helping them build a life they love.

Disaster Preparedness for Kids

Our homes are where we retreat after a long day; they are where we celebrate the highs and seek shelter from the storms. However, we know that inevitably, emergencies happen. Severe weather strikes, tornadoes touch down, and fires break out.

To help our youngest neighbors feel secure, we partnered with the Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation to develop disaster relief preparedness guides specifically for kids. These resources are designed to give children the tools they need to stay safe and manage fear when the unexpected happens.

Equality Fest in Gainesville

This year, we had the opportunity to support Equality Fest in Gainesville, Georgia, right near our Crescent Valley community.

Supporting local LGBTQ+ organizations is one way we can help ensure that all our neighbors feel welcome and that our communities remain diverse, vibrant places where everyone knows they belong.

Collaborating To Inspire Kindness

We collaborated with Goodera and Think Together to create calendars inspiring daily acts of kindness for community members.

This hands-on project brought out the best in our staff, when more than 30 Quinn team members gathered to create Acts of Kindness calendars, creating four months’ worth of content! Young entrepreneurs and youth programs use these calendars to inspire daily, actionable ways to spread kindness.

The T-Shirt Tote Project

We are always looking for ways to be more responsible stewards of our environment. In a fun, creative workshop, our team learned how to upcycle everyday T-shirts into reusable tote bags.

The impact of this small switch is massive: just one t-shirt tote can replace the use of over 1,000 plastic bags.

The workshop was such a success that we are looking into bringing this class to our residents in 2026, either virtually or in person.

A Season of Gratitude

We are grateful for each of these initiatives. We are thankful for the impact they have on our neighborhoods because they reinforce the real and lasting connections we have to the places we serve.

Thank you to our dedicated team members who took time away from their desks to volunteer! Most importantly, thank you to every single one of our residents. Your spirit of generosity and connection is what breathes life into our neighborhoods every single day!
