Summer just hits differently. Longer days, a slower pace, and more time outdoors connecting with the people around us.

Where we live has a meaningful impact on our overall well-being.

At Quinn Residences, our neighborhoods are built from the ground up to foster a true sense of community. We design our communities to give you more time to focus on what matters most, and no season demonstrates this intentionality like summer.

Rather than rattle off a list of features and amenities, we asked Blake Thomas, Quinn’s Vice President of Operations and a resident at McCart Landing in Conyers, Georgia, about his favorite parts of the season. Here are three things he’s sure you’ll notice when you spend your summer in a Quinn neighborhood.

1. Amenities That Bring People Together

Having a pool or a walking trail is a great perk, and plenty of people love unwinding from a long day or enjoying the weekend by taking advantage of these outdoor spaces. The community connection can’t be overlooked either.

On hot Saturday afternoons, the pool is where people finally meet the family living two doors down. The dog park, in particular, often turns into an unofficial evening meeting spot.

Residents gather there to let their pets run off some energy while they chat with neighbors or meet new fellow residents for the first time.

Whether you’re playing a match on the tennis or pickleball courts or taking an evening walk along the trails, you’re sharing a neighborhood with people who value community the way you do.

2. Resident Events Are Thoughtful and Frequent

Quinn neighborhoods are about community as much as they are housing, and we want to allow residents to connect regularly. Our community teams actively look for ways to brighten your day, and summer is packed with exciting activities and surprise treats.

Some events are small surprises, like coming home from work to find a lemonade giveaway celebrating National Lemonade Day. Others make your morning commute a little easier, like a breakfast on the go setup where the team hands out Chick-fil-A biscuits and orange juice as you head out of the neighborhood.

Throughout the summer, residents can participate in summer reading book swaps, outdoor ice cream socials, lawn games, and even “paint your own pottery” classes where we supply the clay, the paint, and flower seeds to plant inside your new creation.

As summer winds down, the focus shifts to giving back. In August, many Quinn communities host Back-to-School parties in partnership with local businesses. Last year at one of our Florida communities, we teamed up with Verizon to supply backpacks and school supplies for dozens of local students, sending them into the new academic year fully prepared.

3. Privacy and Connection Are Perfectly Balanced

Quinn neighborhoods are frequently located outside of dense city centers. They are adjacent to essential amenities, major employers, and dining options, while still providing the quiet environment to truly unwind and recharge.

The homes at McCart Landing are spaced to give you room to breathe. You can sit on your back patio with music playing without worrying about the neighbors, and every home comes with a fenced-in backyard, so on a hot summer day you can just open the back door and let the dog roam in a secure space.

To be sure, being slightly removed from the city doesn’t mean you are disconnected.

For residents who are new to the area, the community teams regularly send out emails highlighting local weekend events, making it incredibly easy to learn about your new town and explore local attractions and hidden gems.

A Summer Like No Other

Summer is a special season, and it highlights the unique living experience at Quinn neighborhoods where connection, activity, and peaceful privacy are perfectly balanced.

“Living at McCart Landing this summer has been a breath of fresh air,” Blake explains. “After a busy day at work, it’s been wonderful to come home and cool off with a refreshing swim in the pool on hot summer days. I’ve also enjoyed attending resident events, which have allowed me to meet more of my neighbors and build a stronger sense of community. Living here has made this summer both relaxing and enjoyable.”

That’s the experience we are cultivating for everyone who calls a Quinn neighborhood home in the summer and all year round.
