Connection, Community, and Camaraderie. These are essential ingredients to a great life, and they can’t be forced. They must be cultivated. Put differently, they are caught, not taught.
At Quinn Residences, we believe that a thriving community doesn’t happen by accident. It’s a deliberate focus that begins long before a resident ever moves in. It starts with our own team and spreads to our communities to positively impact resident experience. Here’s how that internal commitment to connection translates into the vibrant, welcoming communities our residents are proud to call home.
”A thriving community doesn’t happen by accident.
Culture Starts with Our Teams
Company culture does more than just improve the office vibe. It has positive impacts on how people interact with and service customers. That’s why we want our Quinn teams to be defined by our cohesion and strong, collaborative dynamic. We believe it’s the best way to provide the genuine care that represents the Quinn resident experience.
No, we aren’t just talking about great team meetings (though we have those) or company happy hours (that too!). We are committed to creating unique opportunities for connection, even across different departments.
One of our most popular initiatives involves intricate Lego projects. Our leadership initiated this project, pairing team members from different departments who might not typically work together. As teams collaborate to build a Home Alone holiday house or a Harry Potter mansion, they develop genuine camaraderie. After the project is finished, the entire team celebrates the accomplishment together.
Our spirit of cohesion isn’t limited to our headquarters. We send separate Lego projects to our on-site property teams so they can build the same bonds between their leasing and maintenance team. This, combined with group service opportunities and team outings to local events like Braves games, solidifies our internal culture.
We also create culture and community by serving others. Our internal volunteer initiatives include:
- Acts of Kindness Calendar with Think Together: Collaborating with Goodera and Think Together to create calendars inspiring daily acts of kindness for community members.
- Disaster Preparedness Guides with CELF: Developed engaging guides to help children learn how to stay safe during emergencies.
- T-Shirt to Tote Workshop: Transformed old t-shirts into tote bags in a virtual workshop, promoting sustainability and supporting local nonprofits with donations.
- Soldiers’ Angels Food Distribution: Assisted with food distribution for veterans and military families, helping with setup, check-ins, and serving groceries.
These are just a few examples of how our intentional focus on connection prepares and energizes us to extend that same sense of community to our residents. The culture we build internally naturally extends outward. When our teams feel connected, supported, and inspired, that energy flows directly into the communities we serve.
Culture in Our Communities
We are replacing the stigma often associated with rental housing – that you don’t get to know your neighbors – with opportunities for community and connection. We’ve empowered our teams to create intentional events and activities with one primary goal: connecting residents. Especially around the holidays, this looks like a variety of intentional, festive events.
Purpose-Driven Gatherings
Our teams partner with local organizations to support initiatives such as canned food drives and book collections. These events provide residents with opportunities to connect and support the broader community. In several communities, we host an annual community beehive event where residents have the unique opportunity to learn about the fascinating world of honeybees, sample freshly harvested honey, peek inside the hive, and even hold the honeycombs and bees with their bare hands!
Low-Pressure Stop Ins
Our communities often host passive events, like a grab-and-go breakfast to get your day started, hot cocoa bar on a chilly evening, or a sundae station on a hot summer day. These are simple opportunities for residents to come in, grab a treat, listen to music (sometimes from local musicians), and strike up a natural conversation with a neighbor.
Interactive Events
We love to get residents involved in community building. This can include fun porch decorating contests, cookie decorating parties, or setting up gift wrapping stations in the office. These stations become fun, centralized spots where people can chat and get ready for the holidays!
True community is more than shared amenities like pools and dog parks. It’s formed through shared experiences, common connection points, and sometimes a challenging Lego project.
At Quinn Residences, community isn’t a concept; it’s our way of life.
